Matt Badiali, Editor of the New Energy letter, Published under the Mangrove Investor, joins us to recap his experience at the recent MoneyShow in Las Vegas. Matt was representing 2 resource companies and also his New Energy letter which is focused on critical minerals. It was very interesting to hear his recap of the investor sentiment toward resources and investing in resource stocks. While the Vegas show is populated by mostly traders, they currently have very little interest in resource investing. We throw out some questions and ideas on what could bring these investors into the resource sector.

My post from CEO, related to this topic:
“I think a new PM investment cycle is starting with younger CEO-GEOs at the forefront (Snowline, Fireweed, Hercules, &C); my perception is that they will run their companies quite differently. The result will be that younger investors (aka, the elusive generalist investor), will finally understand that extraction/refinement of metals/elements is NOT the same as extracting carbon to burn (Oil, Coal, Gas). This can be accomplished by merely looking at your phone/laptop/car and wondering what’s inside.”
ADD: Remember the “Intel Inside” branding from the 1990s? It was a simple way of explaining that increased computer sales would increase Intel’s shareprice. The same “should” eventually be true with Silver, Copper, Nickel, Lithium. Well … I am hoping anyway.
What will be important for younger investors is not only WHERE these elements are sourced but WHO is working for the company and WHAT their values are. I think that Snowline’s recent short videos are an example of how to present this message to new, younger investors.
