Hour 1 – A fund manager, a broker, and a generalist share how they view junior metals stocks and US markets
This week I switch up the slow of the weekend show and start with resource stock investing and wrap up with the generalists and broad markets. I chat with a resource fund manager and exploration focused focused broker about what they are looking to invest in. For the generalist and broad market comments I chat with a well known Managing Partner of an FX Trading Firm.
- Segment 1 and 2 – Matt Geiger, Managing Partner at MJG Capital kicks off the show with an extended segment focused on investing in junior resource stocks and where his fund is investing right now. Click here to learn more about MJG Capital.
- Segment 3 – Steve Todoruk, Investment Executive at Sprott Global is up next with comments on the new Atlantic Canada area play, how to view stocks that have private placement shares coming free trading, and majors divesting non-core assets. If you want Steve’s comment on any of your stocks his email is STodoruk@sprottglobal.com
- Segment 4 – Marc Chandler, Managing Partner at Bannockburn Global ForEx wraps up the show by outlining 3 issues investors need to be aware of. These include technical patterns in US markets, how yields are trading, and the funding package from the US government that is inevitably going to happen. Click here to visit Marc’s daily blog.

Hi All, CRASH!, the investing section of KER has been swallowed up by a black hole, and without Excelsior around I really can’t see this site being a viable platform for investors to exchange ideas. His depth of knowledge in the mining sector can’t be replaced. I personally feel he didn’t get the respect he deserved from Al and Cory. In his parting shot he mentioned that nobody read his posts, It is pretty easy to figure out who he was referring to. DT
Not me…. 🙂
After several years…….Ex…..became an expert……JMO
Ex/Shad would have did himself a favor if he would have stuck to commentary about mining stocks and not dictate to Big Al how to run his site.
Money is always the first consideration, but not necessarily the best. JK
JohnK I never dictated how Big Al should run his site, so don’t put words in my mouth. When did anyone say money is the first consideration?
The vast majority of my comments for a decade were sticking to commentary about economics and mining stocks and in the spirit of helping others, or sharing information with like-minded investors.
During my tenure, Ex has been very complimentary of Cory and Al. In fact, Ex posts most of Cory’s interviews on ceo.ca either on his site or the respective miner site or sites addressed in the interviews. The one thing Ex can be counted on is to put up some very factual and detailed info on miners. He volunteers extensive info at the expense of a lot of his personal time. I wish I could offer a small percentage as much.
Thanks again David.
Yes, I’m a big fan of the work Cory & Big Al do here at the KER, and the great variety of commentators, economic pundits, technicians, and company interviews that are featured.
Thanks for the kind words DT and OOTB.
For clarity my prior comments were not directed at Al & Cory.
I expect Ex will surface again after he gets his house on the market, sold and he relocates. The volume and quality of his contributions should not be underrated. It is what attracted me to this site. During one of my initial contacts with Ex I questioned something he was discussing and he proceeded to give me about seven articles to read. After reading everything, I changed my tune. He taught me a lot over the last few months and I felt I was just scratching the surface. He is still around. My personal investments have slowed to a halt as my account has stopped moving. I can’t decide if what I am holding is good or bad so I am down to watching “dumb and dumber” try to decide if they are going to issue stimulus to the starving masses. I guess Wall Street can’t decide how big of a Xmas bonus they want from The Fed that may divert food stamp expansion.
Thanks for the comment DAVID…………I am sure EX, will appreciate the thought….
You are correct OOTB – Yes, I did appreciate those comments from David.
David, I sent you a private message back over at ceo.ca a week or so back, but you can always reach out to me that way if want to discuss a few companies from time to time. As mentioned, I’m swamped right now with the house on the market (and it took a lot of work to get it ready), and then we have the big relocation in front of us. As a result, I’m just taking a break from posting so much, and can’t follow the markets or the blog very regularly with so many areas of life pulling my focus elsewhere.
Wishing you and all the good folks here at the KE Report prosperity in their trading for the balance of 2020. Ever Upward!
Thanks Ex. I have not checked my ceo.ca site as I don’t expect anyone to be writing. I always try to check yours and as long as you are not active, I try to let you keep doing what you need to with the house sale. I will see if I can find my site now.
If you get a direct message over at ceo.ca, then you’ll see it pop in red over on the right hand margin with the other links to rooms, etc… under the “notifications” heading. It’s just a good way to chat privately regarding different companies. Cheers!
Hey Ex, I have appreciated your posts (like you I try to keep to company specific and related macro events) although I can only follow this site so much. I have been on this site enough to know that if people want to make money in the pm market that you and Matthew are the dudes to follow, Thanks for all the effort it must have taken to produce your content although some of your rants read like they came right off the top of your head, haha.
Much appreciated Dan, calgary. I think you have a great eye for picking winning positions in the Jr miners, and value your posts as well sir.
Yes, whether researching or ranting, I have done my best to provide helpful info, and spent quite a bit of time here on the KER and was happy to do so. Right now, time is the most precious commodity for me, so I’ve throttled back the posting for foreseeable future.
Wishing you well in your investments for the balance of the year amigo.

Mr. Robert Friedland reports
IVANHOE MINES: UNDERGROUND DEVELOPMENT AT THE KAKULA COPPER MINE ENTERS ZONE OF ULTRA-HIGH-GRADE ORE
Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. is making excellent progress advancing underground mine development at the Kakula mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with current mining grades of up to 11 per cent copper in one of the access drives being advanced from the northern decline.
Kakula’s northern and southern dual access drives are expected to be connected (mining term is “holing”) next month, allowing highly-productive mining (stoping) operations to begin in high-grade zones.
“Development of the dual access drives from Kakula’s northern decline has entered a zone of chalcocite-rich ore grading up to 11% copper over a height of 6.6 metres,” said Mr. Friedland.
