Fortunately, most of health is lifestyle, over which rich and poor alike have a great amount of control.
Doctors tend to choose the most expensive cures, because that is what they tend to be trained in at the pharmaceutical funded universities. Many times there is a superior alternative cure, cheap to virtually free. One example: bladder infections. MDs tend to give antibiotics, which temporarily relieves the problem, but at the same time damages the bodies microbial ecosystem, making it more susceptible to future bladder infections. It’s a downward spiral that eventually may result in much worse medical problems. Or you can skip the MD, buy yourself a bottle of D-mannose, highly effective, no negative side effects. I am not a medical professional–do your own due diligence.
I know people in South America who have had a gangrenous leg scheduled to be amputated, and a kidney scheduled to be removed (by German docs) that were saved by ‘naturistas’–traditional healers, with herbal remedies and wild honey.
I am not ‘against’ modern medicine–it’s amazing at times. But it has turned its back on a whole range of treatment modalities that are insufficiently profitable. The first and foremost, of course, is sound knowledge of nutrition.
