The dollar and gold relationship over the long term
Some interesting moves in the markets today. We focus on the USD continued move down and discuss the longer-term (multi month) move that we expect. This move should be supportive of gold but it will take some time.
Again a big thank you to everyone who is taking time to share their opinions on the blog. Please keep the comments coming!

Gold vs. Bitcoin (Bix Weir & Kerry Lutz)
The un-democratic structure of the EU is rotten to the core.
The bureaucrats have given themselves high salaries and pensions, while depriving the elected parliament of any significant power to originate legislation.
The northern EU will probably survive, but it is corrupt from the core out.
There is nothing wrong with a free trade zone, but political union will never universally work because of the different character of the nationalities involved.
People are giving up humanity ! 200 dead in IRAQ last days ! Government is tottaly corrupt !

Off Topic: Bob Moriarty: Why is there such a disparity in the $USD display between 321gold and kitco.com ?

Doc, Volatility seems to spike up in the early hours of trading then turn down making large oscillations each day. What is your view of volatility over the next couple of weeks? Will the metals hang up here for a few weeks more? Do you still think the general equity markets will turn down dramatically in a few months?
Doc, what do you think of the price of silver going forward after today’s run.

THE DOLLAR AND GOLD RELATIONSHIP OVER THE LONG TERM
There is no relationship yet.
Silver will remain range bound until the CFTC gets it act together and put some people in jail. but that is not going to happen…..see silver smashers.net……..the govt is not your friend….
oops…..it’s
oops….puts……(oh, do not buy puts)
I think Doc’s idea of the stronger countries keeping the Euro alive while some of the weaker fall by the wayside has merit, instead of just a total collapse like so many believe. Good statement, Doc.
