Rick’s take on potential Trump tariffs
Today with Rick Ackerman we step away from just the charts and discuss the possibility of Trump enacting the tariffs he has tweeted and outlined. What harm could they bring to other countries such as Mexico and China and will they actually help the average American?

How is your second point dif from the U.S.?
The heavily watched Au, Ag and Cu are down, but Pt, Pd, Ni and Zn are nicely up.
Great point CFS. This is why diversification is key.
Matthew, I studied Primero’s presentation and was happy to see that Bob Quartermain is on the board. So I bought more shares this morning@.746. If it gets up to 1.53 I’ll be back in the black. And Gary Savage says gold is going to at least 5K. That ought to take PPP to the moon, especially if they win their tax dispute with the federales. Thanks.
With preliminary consolidated all-in sustaining costs (“AISC”) including corporate G&A expected to be $1,326 per gold ounce for 2016, a higher gold price is the key.
Primero will blow away its low-cost peers when the gold price puts the company “in the money.”
In other news, NGD found some fork support this morning before reversing and climbing 12% to resistance (blue):

PPP’s chart sure looks like a bottom is forming to me. Let’s hope the Mexicans don’t go back on their word to PPP about their tax agreement. And with gold at 5K we may see PPP @30, especially if they find more gold and silver.
This might be a simplistic comment, but rather than trying to keep Mexicans out of the US ( with a wall, or any other methods ) – why not help Mexico prosper so they’d just want to stay there. If they could make a living in their own country they’d just stay there.
AMEN
we should help all counties after fixing our own first.
How?
Do you propose assassination of corrupt officials?
Just pumping money into the country (the usual technique) won’t help.
Perhaps we should march the army south and ask for surrender of the country. (sarcasm off)
How about giving back the land? lol
Actually, in time that could partially happen.
California is starting a succession, after they dont make it on their own they could find it beneficial to join Mexico.
Wasnt Texas talking about succession too? hmmm
Texas loves Trump.
Great talk today Rick & Cory. Had to listen to it twice.
Good stuff.
Rick is pretty astute in his observations but I think Mexico’s biggest problem is their corrupt lawless society. Unfortunately the wall is needed because I can’t see Mexico improving in the future and they have done nothing to alleviate or halt the massive flood of immigrants across their borders.
In the future even small cars will be produced in The US because automation is making cheap labor redundant. The car plants will be taxed and just like people they will want to be located in a safer environment then Mexico is able to or willing to supply. What will become of Mexico? Their future looks pretty bleak through my vision.
Mexico suffers from two problems:
1. The best and brightest leave the country and come to the US.
2. Society has tolerated a high level of corruption to permeate all bureaucracy.
(There are exceptions, of course.)
