Cory
August 29, 2024

Dana Lyons, Fund Manager and Editor of The Lyons Share Pro joins us to discuss the shift in leadership he is seeing within the markets. Tech, semiconductors and broadly the Magnificent 7 have led the markets higher. Now Dana is seeing a rotation of money to other lagging sectors.

Dana highlights an emerging leadership change within the markets, noting that while the Magnificent 7 tech stocks have dominated, he sees potential risks and a shift towards broader market strength, particularly in small and mid-cap stocks. Dana also details the recent performance in value sectors like healthcare, real estate, utilities, and precious metals, emphasizing the importance of diversification and strategic hedging. He shares his cautious yet optimistic outlook, supported by strong market internals and breadth, while noting potential risks in the tech, semiconductor, and Japanese markets.

If you read the YouTube blog headlines, things couldn’t get worse. All the tribal BS in the US may have been more misdirected than planned on. The transfer of wealth was the agenda and it is at the end of the road as the coffers are empty. As most say when things look bleak … we are cautiously optimistic. We are going to need some Grown-Ups to take control. Know any …?

Prior to the Wednesday post-market release of NVDA performance numbers all of the Magnificent 7 members had met upside resistance at Fibonacci related levels (current status in parens): AAPL 78.6% (up some), AMZN 61.8% (down), GOOG 38.2% (down), META 100% double top (down), MSFT 50% (down), NVDA 78.6% (down hard), TSLA 50% (down).

Market rotation could be the cause of these things, or something much more may be masked by them, as Larry Pesavento has been noting, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmC3_Q0gPzo.

It’s even possible that such a wild move could occur much sooner than the November election and FOMC meeting — or not at all. BDC
