Erik Wetterling, Founder and Editor of the Hedgeless Horseman joins us to discuss management and stock selection in the resource sector amid a bullish market for metals.

Erik discusses his investment strategy focused on companies with ounces in the ground and substantial growth potential, his cautious approach to trading high-risk alpha stocks, and the importance of having a robust strategy that withstands volatility. He elaborates on his preference for post-discovery stories over pre-discovery plays, highlighting the significance of proven success and probable growth in his portfolio.

Nobody ever discusses Leading Edge Materials Corp., (V. LEM) they have a substantial HREE project Norra Karr in Sweden, a mothballed Graphite Mine also in Sweden and a nickel cobalt property in Romania. It has a lot of critical metals that are needed especially in Europe, but the shares are selling for 9 cents and have been suppressed for a long time. I’m sure Eric could shed some light on Leading Edge Minerals. Several years ago, they had a lot of investors buying their stock simply because of the rare earth deposit at Norra Karr. Europe doesn’t have the access to minerals like we see here in North America so you would expect Leading Edge to have a much higher profile because of where it is located. That could be a good thing it certainly falls under the heading of contrarian investing. DT

Hi DT. Yes, I’m familiar with Leading Edge Materials, and even swing-traded it a few times a few years back but haven’t checked in on it for a while. At the time their graphite project, and prior producing mine, was actually generating more interest than their rare earth project, but then graphite companies went back out of vogue and mostly crashed.

I’m familiar with their Norra Karr project, because it used to be inside of Tasman Metals (an aussie listed company in the last Rare Earths boom), and I was curious where it had gone as it was one of the dozen deposits being considered as legit for both the “heavy” and “light” REEs. I’ve since talked to a few different rare earths companies about it, and they felt it was interesting but had some hair on the project, that would make it difficult to get permitted and process. It will be curious to see if it comes back to life again in the next big Rare Earth Elements cycle.

        Hello Excelsior,

You recommended NXE to me a few years ago and we discussed many other uranium and precious metals stocks as well. These sectors have been a major success. I don’t have time to come to Rereport any more since I am working on a large IT project in a major Canadian oil company. It is too demanding as technical leader. I am also hosting an investment forum in Discord. I have shared these stocks, uranium, gold, silver, energy, with the members and many of them made money. I appreciate your help. Currently, I sold half of my uranium position and still has more than twice as much as my initial capital left over in stocks. My only uranium failure is Paladin Energy in Australia. Do you know whether it will recover? Since I don’t come very often here, please send emails to Lawrenceypz@yahoo.com if you have any information to share. Thanks.
