Weekend Show – Cam Currie and Brent Cook – Tips For Investing In Resource Stocks From A Couple Legends
Welcome to the KE Report Weekend Show! Since we attended the New Orleans Investment Conference this week I decided to focus the Weekend Show on investing in resource stocks. We are joined by two well respected experts in the sector that very well might be the most selective investors when it come to analyzing companies. Not only do they both share specific company fundamentals they focus on but they also discusses a number of companies.
We will be back full time next week with interviews from the conference as well as daily market commentary.
- Segment 1 and 2 – Cam Curry, Senior Investment Advisor at Canaccord Genuity and Head of Currie Metals and Mining Group kicks off the show with a general discussion on why he thinks the precious metals stocks are trading at such a discount from the underlying metals prices. We then focus on a wide range of fundamentals he looks for in companies.
- Segment 3 and 4 – Brent Cook, Exploration Geologist and Advisor to Joe Mazumdar at Exploration Insights joins us from the floor of the New Orleans Investment Conference to discuss what he looks for in pre-discovery and post-discovery stocks. We focus on some fatal flaws he thinks we all should look out for and shares a number of stocks he thinks are doing the right kind of work.
***All segments below are updated with the proper interviews. Sorry for the error.

When was this interview with Doc done, seems to be from weeks ago???
Doc talks about next year being 2023, and early in the discussion it is said that gold closed down for the fourth month in a row. Was this interview done a year ago?
Doc and Matt Geiger. My guess a technical glitch but still good info.
Yep, the interviews with Cam Currie and Brent Cook have been up once Cory got this weekend’s show loaded. Both very solid segments.
It was great catching up with Brent and many friends and guests of the KE Report at the New Orleans Investment Conference. We have more content we recorded there to release over the next few days, and other interviews we scheduled for follow up in the near future.
Ever upward!
This appears to be interviews with Richard Postma and Matt Geiger…maybe from late 2022?
A question for CORY … Why did you post a weekend show on the other page that appears to be from last year. We where supposed to get a weekend show , with a new guest called MIKE. Answer please.
Sorry Irish. I posted the incorrect files. Everything is updated now.
Thanks , Cory.
Glitch in the Matrix with a show from last year posted – hopefully they’re able to get this week’s content posted soon (Brent Cook fanboy).
You’re right Dan, it was a glitch in the matrix when I was posting yesterday while in New Orleans 😉
I’m back home now and everything is updated to the correct files.
How was sentiment in New Orleans?
Hey Ryan,
I would say overall sentiment was more on the bearish side. There were some bullish talks and conversations but a lot of people and companies think the market could remain tough for a while. The conference was smaller than last year but a couple people noted they saw some more younger people in the audience. There remains a huge divide between the companies with money or cash-flow and those that are worried about where future funding will come from.
The one constant across the board is the disappointment with how news is being reacted to. Good news doesn’t have the torque to the upside and bad news is crushing stocks.
I agree with Cory’s assessment, especially about the dichotomy between the “haves” and “have nots” with regards to junior resource stocks… There are cashed-up companies that still have a lot of drill results to release, and solid work programs underway, and then lots of companies with barely any money left in their treasury, and no substantial work programs or means to raise capital without diluting their share count to obvilion.
Luckily for us, many of the companies we feature here on the KE Report are part of the “haves” group, and I’m happy to report that on the list of the highest-grade drill intercepts of the week from the entire gold sector, that we just interviewed 4 of the exploration leaders this week on our show.
Goliath Resources, Scottie Resources, Calibre Mining, and Lion One are featured on this list for the best gold drill intercepts of the week, and rightly so as they had solid exploration results.
We are doing our best to bring the KER crew content from the companies doing the solid exploration work in the sector.
For full disclosure: All 4 companies noted above with some of the best gold drill intercepts of last week are sponsors of the KE Report, and I have positions in all 4 companies, so I’m obviously biased…. but the drill results speak for themselves.
Thanks for the volume of quality work you two do. I am sure it is difficult to keep up the work pace in this volatile environment … but you two do. Thanks from those of us that profit from your efforts.
Gold somehow “knew” weeks ago that the USD would be unable to overcome the fork resistance that it battled for the last 6 weeks. This week’s reversal looks convincing and it closed below its weekly KAMA for the first time in 3 months.

Good interview with Brent Cook.
Thanks for that feedback JustTruth.
It was great to get a lot of questions in front of Brent in that interview, and he had some really solid answers and resource investing tips for folks to consider.
Martin Armstrong video today…….”gold and USD to move up together”……one of those times in history where many factors create this unique trend, and not some simple linear explanation !
Brent at this for decades as well, thinking we are headed into precious metal upturn next year……….hope he’s right !!!!
Comex futures manipulators hesitant on the short side with all the geopolitical risk heating up, is on our side as well !! GLTA
That upturn is happening now, not next year. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the herd to realize it.
The XAU is currently up 13.5% since bottoming a month ago.

The rate hiking cycle has ended. Gold knows it and the Fed can’t do anything about it.

Just as I expected: No followup on Friday’s pattern. Back to normal: after a green open, it was taken red in less than 10 minutes. Let’s hope running same algo as usual has some opposition. If not, then another down day among many.
For Aston Bay followers: Drill results and Aston my worst % of day so far. Good copper results. Maybe some think it is too near surface. Maybe deeper holes will be even better. But…it is copper. Maybe it is just Monday and Regulators are tired from their weekend trips.
Bouncing off the Brent Cook interview, I tried to pick up some Meteoric as their Brazilian project sounded good. After running into some trading glitches with both Schwab and Interactive Brokers (Schwab: call us and IBKR: only can buy AUS), I saw where Appia had some good drill results in an Oct 31 release that was Rare Earths aslo in Brazil. I could pickup those on the OTC without having to call my mother.
Take away Hercules and my other 45 stocks were – $1000. Friday was an exception to the downtrend.
