Reyna Gold – First 10 Drill Assays of 5,500 Meter Phase 2 Drill Program Returned from 3 Target Areas At The La Gloria Project
Michael Wood, CEO and Director of Reyna Gold Corp. (TSX.V: REYG) (OTCQB: REYGF), joins us for an exploration update with 10 of the initial drill assays returned from the ongoing Phase 2 drill program at the flagship La Gloria Project; a 24,215 ha area located along the Mojave-Sonora Megashear trend in Sonora, Mexico. There are 4 different target areas of focus in 2023: La Republicana, Las Carmelitas, Western, and the Main Zone.
On July 27th, the first 10 drill holes were reported, for a total of 1,328 meters of the planned 5,500 meter Phase 2 drilling at its La Gloria property. The initial focus has been drilling at La Republicana, with large step outs from drill hole# LG-22-30, which produced 59 meters of 1.45 g/t gold in Phase 1 drilling. Eight out of these first ten drill holes for a total of 801m have been targeted towards this goal and have successfully started to delineate a mineralized zone of approximately 200m by 150m around LG-22-30. In total, 17 holes have now been drilled at La Republicana for a total of 1,770m, with more holes planned pending results.
Next we discussed that the assays returned and ongoing drilling based off the key IP survey data for both the near-surface bulk mineralization at Las Carmelitas and the big high-density veins at the Western area. A total of 22 holes for 2,803m have now been drilled in the current program at La Gloria: 17 holes in La Republicana, 4 in Western, and 1 in Las Carmelitas. A second drill hole was just completed at Las Carmelitas, and the exploration team eagerly awaits the assay results to continue to refine additional drill targets at this key area of exploration potential. Additionally, later in the exploration season there may be drilling allocated to following up on nice silver hit from last drill season at the Main zone.
We wrap up discussing the district scale size of this land package, along with the range of minerals found from precious metals – gold and silver, and base metals like copper, zinc, and lead. It reflects the large discovery potential of important key metals at a number of targets for exploration this year and into the future, so there should be plenty of newsflow on tap in the months to come.
