Lion One Metals – A US$37Milllion Financing Facility Secured, What Does This Mean For The Mine Build?
Quinton Hennigh, Technical Advisor at Lion One Metals (TSX.V:LIO – OTCQX:LOMLF – ASX:LLO) joins me to discuss the US$37million financing facility, announced on January 19th. The major question being if this will fund the Company through the ongoing mine build, with production forecasted for the end of 2023.
We start off by discussing if this financing facility now fully cashes up Lion One Metals for the mine build at the Tuvatu Project in Fiji. Quinton outlines the move into production, starting with small scale production. This ties into a discussion on the ongoing drill program that is a blend of infill and exploration at depth.
If you have any follow up questions for Quinton or the team at Lion One Metals please email me at Fleck@kereport.com.
Yeah, I’ve been mostly sitting on my Lion One position (which has been in the green for me for while now).
I figured they’d eventually make the move to go into smaller-scale production, to generate revenues to feed their exploration programs to come, so it is set up as a nice organic growth story. Now, whether or not they’ll pull it off well or not remains to be seen, but I believe, there is a lot more gold to find at depth in the feeder zone of the alkaline system, and anticipate that their deposit size could grow multiple fold over the next few years.
As a result, I’m sitting tight in this one for now, but am prepared that most companies struggle a bit when they put a new mine into production. If we see any shareprice weakness when the rubber hits the road on production, then I’ll likely accumulate a bit more. For me the bigger prize is the further exploration of their 7 km wide land package across the whole caldera.
How long is the ramp up and optimization generally expected to take?
Could they potentially be in positive cashflow if it goes as expected and not need to raise further funds?
Lion One is one of my favorites that I won’t trade but will hold for the buy-out! DT
