Brent Cook – A Broad Discussion On The Health Of The Resource Sector Down To The Stocks
We are very happy to welcome Brent Cook back to the show! It’s been a while since we last had Brent on but after running into him at the recent Beaver Creek conference I locked him in for an interview!
We focus on the overall health of the resource space. This includes a historical reference for the current market environment, key fundamentals he is looking for in stocks, jurisdictional breakdowns, metals he is more optimistic on and a few more topics!
Shad and I are attending the upcoming New Orleans Investment Conference on October 12-15. We love to see you there! It’s a great way to meet company management and spend some time in New Orleans. Click the link below to register and please let us know if you will be there so we can meet up.

Nice to get Brent Cook’s thoughts on the mining stocks, and where he see’s the value out there.
I completely agree with him on Liberty Gold (LGD) (LGDTF) and have been adding to my position lately after getting it started back up again in July. They have 2 great economic development projects, over 3 million ounces of gold defined in all categories, and I continue to view them as takeover candidates by a larger producer over the next year or two.

Brent mentioned that Nevada is still one of the best jurisdictions for gold mining, and it always ranks near the top in the Fraser Institute research and rankings on jurisdictions.
One of my heavier weighted positions to Nevada at present is I-80 Gold Corp, a growth-oriented producer that will exponentially expanding their production profile over the next few years, and that has really been knocking it out of the park lately on exploration success.
Here is the (IAU) (IAUX) I-80 Gold Corp live presentation at the recent mining conference in Colorado:
I forwarded Brent’s recommendations to myself. That is my new note keeping way of trying to remember. I have I-80 but looked at Liberty briefly. I will look more into it before tomorrow. Thanks.
Just remembered, but Dave Kranzler put ip an article (1st or second) on the Gata.org site that is worth a read.
The biggest mover for my portfolio today was in Amex Exploration on the back of this news:
(AMX) (AMXEF) Amex Makes New Gold Discovery Named the Team Zone with High Grade Intercepts up to 10.05 g/t Au over 9.50 m and 68.66 g/t Au over 1.40 m at Perron

Don’t own AMX but do have AGX, which had a similar % gain today.
Terry you are talking about Silver X right? We’ve talked to management there before and introduced them to the show a while back. It’s a good reminder to reach back out to them for an update.
Yes that’s it, SilverX down in Peru
CXB and SGI have also made recent discoveries which can easily bolt on, increase production and reduce costs.
Aussie mid tier Ramelius(RMS.AX) is way down this year due to rising costs and slow growth
Lost 2/3 of its stock price….ridiculous.
Yes, I’ve been very impressed with the exploration results out of both CXB Calibre and SGI Superior Gold lately, as they’ve behaved similarly as IAUX I-80 Gold and been sold off as good news is posted. Even if Mr. Market has not given these companies any love for their fantastic drill intercepts, they are going to feed into updated resource estimates and future mine plans and eventually truth will out and they’ll get rerated higher. In 12-18 months more folks will wake up to the improving dynamics at some of these growth-oriented producers, when their strategies continue to unfold with production increases and some of the satellite development projects come into production.
Hi E$x, when you go to The New Orleans Investment conference make sure you and Cory take your knee pads with you, in case Irish shows up and wants to go on a pub crawl. You better have some cash handy in case you have to buy your way out of a situation. LOL! DT
Oh, I almost forgot Irish likes to wear the bead necklaces they throw out of the second story windows on Bourbon Street. DT😍
Newfoundlanders also like those.
DT – Haha! Duly noted. We’ll be excited to see anyone that makes it down to the New Orleans Investment Conference in a few weeks, kneepads, beaded necklaces, and all… Cheers!
Bought back into Eskay Mining today when it broke below $1.00. Added a little to Stillhouse Critical. Waiting to see if all of them keep going lower. Took a few more losses, but don’t want to empty any position yet. Losses can be gains pretty quickly in an unpredictable market. “Unpredictable”. Is a less inflammatory word.
