Erik Wetterling – Value Investing Versus Guessing At Reactions To Macro Noise
Erik Wetterling, Founder and Editor of The Hedgeless Horseman website, joins us with his reaction to the recent bounce we’ve seen in the precious metals along with most markets, and how he approaches value investing in his portfolio of junior gold and silver mining stocks. We review that even companies with banked derisked success have been drastically undervalued, and that all that value is there to rise when sentiment shifts.
Erik emphasizes that keeping one’s approach to spotting value is far more important that trying to follow 100 different fundamental or technical data points, that ultimately if he can buy a good management team and project that has “probable growth”, and “buy a future that’s not here yet,” then it will rise eventually when the sentiment swings back to bullish, regardless of all the other data people consume their time parsing and debating.
Agreed. Erik is able to distill down all the monkey chatter and just focus on the basics, and is particularly good at finding those probable growth stories before most of the market does.
Very nice getting his insightful rants here on the KE Report. 😉
Shad I stick to the easy stuff. More factors than Price and Value and I get confused :>
All the best
Hey buddy, it’s working well for you to keep it simple.
Like the old acronym K.I.S.S. says (Keep It Simple Stupid). Haha! 😉
Always nice to get your thoughts on how you approach finding new probable growth stories. Cheers!
Glad to hear LD2!
I am always positively surprised anytime someone understands my incoherent rants 🙂
All the best
Hello, I am not getting some of these episodes on my podcast platform (iTunes). This is one of the episodes I have to stream directly from the website. Please fix. I really enjoy this show!
It is always fun to listen Erik’s thoughts and actions. He has a lot of common sense.
