Doc Jones – Is tax loss selling around the corner? And where Doc Jones is investing now.
Doc Jones, Private Investor, joins us to discuss the possibility of further selling in the precious metals stocks due to tax loss selling. Comments have been made that tax loss selling has already happened but that might not be the case.
We then have Doc Jones share what resource sectors he is investing in. the focus right now is on energy and resource scarcity.
Thanks IrishT. The site has some kinks to work out that we are working on behind the scenes, and it may go down for short periods over the next day or two as we do updates, but there is only so much one can gather from back end modeling, and really, when one pulls the trigger on the live feed is when you find out how everything settled. It was a massive amount of data to migrate over, and not all of it landed as we expected, but it’s a work in progress.
We’ll have better navigation drop down menus at the top eventually, and will be fixing the blog here as now all the comments are on one long blogroll instead of cascading over in the hierarchy trees, based on the replies. We’re working to fix that as well.
Also, most of the recent posts went down below the 3 sections on Gold, General Markets, and Base Metals to a section called “Latest Stories,” but then the 2 new posts went to the very top in the “sticky” section. We’ll get it all figured out, and appreciate everyone’s patience as we get everything laid out correctly and functioning properly.
Not that I miss the ads down the right side of the page, but won’t you miss the revenue? Also, I found the PM price charts down the left side of the page a quick, handy reference for what’s going on during the day.
There are 2 sponsor banner rolls between the first 3 sections, and then a banner roll of guest links between the 3rd and 4th section.
.
> between “Gold/Silver News” and “US Equity Markets” – rolling sponsors
> between “US Equity Markets” and “Base Metals” – rolling sponsors
> between “Base Metals” and “Latest Stories Continue” – rolling guests
.
As one scrolls down the page those logos should pop up between sections. We hope folks check out some of the companies if they hear an interview that catches their attention, as that is how we keep the site free and keep the lights on here at the KER.
.
As for the Market updates, if one scrolls down there are some sections on the right-hand side of the main landing page that will be streaming quotes of Gold, Silver, US Dollar, Oil, Copper General Markets, etc… and another section that will show the “Market Movers” on the TSX, TSXV, NYSE, and a few other markets.
I just want to see how this works…… š

Oh My! My Uranium stocks are up 12% to more than 30% UP intraday. I trimmed bigtime which could easily be trade decisions that I’ll regret. Awesome daily candles printing on many of the U stocks.
aghead. Yeah, I saw that today with the Uranium stocks launching higher, and had been buying back into my positions over the last few weeks to get my 7 U-stocks up to 60% positions, but on the run higher today of 12-15% in many names, I trimmed them back down to 40%-50% positions again.
.
Trading these uranium stocks have been an absolute blast the last 2 years, but especially the last 2 months!

Those were some big tall green candles in the U’s yesterday! Some how I trimmed or exited 100% of some of my stocks at those highs, yet was able to re-enter this morning lower.
I sweated the night out thinking I’d lost my positions to a big gap up this morn.
On another note, AXU up near 10%
First post on the new site. It is much better on a computer than a phone. Appears better to me and a little overwhelming with info until I get used to the format. But I like how it is divided up into categories and recent things are more “right there”…in other words more volume up front to pick from.
Thanks for the Doc Jones interview. Very good as always.
What happened to the OIL article…. this morning… lol
EX…. never mind on relying , I just saw you note above….
Hi Jerry … Welcome to the pleasure Dome , LOL I did reply to your Email.
Hi OOTB. Yeah, today it’s a bit chaotic until we get everything sorted on the site and figure out how to get the blog cascading for replies figured out. Right now the replies are going roughly under the post one was responding to, but we liked the hierarchy tree where the first comment is the most left-shifted, and then replies become indented to the right on each level of reply.
.
We are working with our web developer to get a number of bugs fixed, and hope to get things operating correctly over the next few days.
Hello Irish……. got the email… and thanks….
lol…. Pleasure Dome… good one…
Does Doc have a PhD ? If so, in which discipline ?
James – I believe “Doc Jones” is a nickname from his friends where they believe he looks like Indiana Jones (Doctor Jones). In this case he is an explorer and adventurer of geology more so than archaeology.

5 Ideas for a Post-Golden Week Gold Bounce
> by Sean Brodrick – October 12, 2021
.
“On Oct. 1, 1949, Mao Zedong proclaimed the founding of the Peopleās Republic of China.”
.
“This National Holiday starts every year with troops raising the flag in Tiananmen Square.
> And with it, Chinaās Golden Week commences.
.
“The government sponsors concerts, parades and fireworks shows. Government offices close. And citizens feast, relax and exchange gifts.”
.
“Itās like the U.S. Independence Day and Christmas rolled up into a seven-day public holiday. Golden Week is also a time of travel. Tourist sites raise ticket prices, and the cost of flights and hotel rooms skyrocket.”
.
“But one asset tends to fall before or during Golden Week ā¦ before rising. And thatās GOLD.”
.
>> Look at these gold charts before and after Chinaās holiday, dating back to 2013:
.
https://wealth-wave.com/wealth-wave/5-ideas-post-golden-week-gold-bounce/
Shanghai and Shenzhen closed for a week, boring. At least HK only took one day off.
The CCP government tries to convince the population that the holiday is a gift from them…as if the Chinese people don’t realize the country existed pre 1949.
I saw someone post this recent update of Eric Sprott’s resource investment portfolio, happy to own 3 of the top 5 holdings in his portfolio in mine as well (JAG, DSV, WM), and have a 4th indirectly (NFG), as Novo Resources has a big stake in New Found Gold in their basket of assets.

One Of The Best Canadian Gold Mining Stories Of The Last Few Years Keeps Getting Better
> by @Goldfinger on 12 Oct 2021
.
“A stellar quarterly report from Victoria Gold (TSX:VGCX, OTC:VITFF) this morning. In a year full of disappointments in the mining sector, this morning’s news from Victoria Gold is a breath of fresh air (with a whiff of winter peppermint….).”
.
āThe Eagle Gold Mine achieved many production records in the third quarter of 2021 including ore mined, total material mined, ore stacked on pad and gold produced. We anticipate the gold production record to be short lived as we expect production growth in the fourth quarter of 2021 and annual production growth into 2022.ā ~ John Mcconnell, President & CEO Victoria Gold
.
“Remember that Coeur Mining (NYSE:CDE) acquired a 17.8% stake in Victoria in early May. Coeur’s due diligence period is supposed to conclude by year end and the Q3 performance at Eagle was something that many analysts posited Coeur would be focused on.”
.

Itās going to take sometime getting use to the new site thatās for sure :). So many years it feels like Iām at a totally different website lol..
Non the less thank you guys and great job!
Matthew the chart regarding brixton you sent yesterday was the one I was talking about. Good stuff.
Gdx looks great in that chart letās see if we can keep pushing.
It feels odd for me too Glenfidish. š
.
We are working to get the blog back to more of a normal look and with the enhanced “edit” and “delete” functionality after making a post, but we have a series of things we are tackling all at once, because we couldn’t see how everything would populate until today. Cory did get the drop-down menus at the top set up though, where people can drill down into Gold, Silver, Explorers, Developers/Producers, Royalty Companies, Copper Stocks, US Markets, US Dollar, Fed Policy, Cryptocurrencies, Weekend Shows.
.
For those using a mobile phone, there is a menu in the upper right corner where if someone clicks on “KER Commentary” it will expand the menu. It’s the same think with the “Stock and Company Interviews” tab, where if clicked on there is an expanded drop-down menu. There is also still the “Politics” tab. For those using a computer those menus populate across the top.
.
It’s a little different, but it will allow users to jump to the sections that interest them the most, for more of a customizable experience.

GDX will be in great shape if it can finish the week near the current level:
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=GDX&p=W&yr=6&mn=9&dy=0&id=p63496616497&a=947466265
SPY:GLD had its KAMA go below its 50 day MA three days ago and now price has dropped to a 2-month low. It’s likely going much lower:
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=SPY%3AGLD&p=D&yr=1&mn=7&dy=11&id=p06399012434&a=979778108
The Gold Miners Index has important resistance at about 900 this week:

GDX is a buy vs SOX (SOX is a sell vs GDX):
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=GDX%3A%24SOX&p=W&yr=6&mn=6&dy=0&id=p94351376522&a=1003710661
GDX looks great now but needs to hold up through Friday’s close (and I bet it will).

GLD also looks great and today’s volume is high.

SLV:GLD is struggling a “P” but I am not worried. SLV will prevail over GLD to take back P and maybe today.

HUI:DIA is at minor fork resistance but the message is clear: Buy gold miners and sell stocks to do so. (That’s not advice.)

GDX is at channel resistance:
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=GDX&p=D&yr=1&mn=3&dy=0&id=p51431357462&a=994699017
Appreciate the chars Matthew! Donāt know if this is a bounce but Iām bullish as of late and agree with all you have said lately. Iām liking the volume and the breakouts smells different.
This is no bounce and it’s not even a short term low that’s happening; it’s a long term low. The bears’ final chance lies in their ability to crush the sector before Friday’s close and I am confident that they won’t be able to.
I’ve seen signs of urgently selling of strength lately in some juniors and that’s a good sign. Most retail investors are still very bearish and are dreaming of buying at much lower levels in December.
IPT breakout:
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=IPT.V&p=D&yr=0&mn=11&dy=0&id=p90351445947&a=847115413
IPT breakout backed by a daily RSI breakout to a level not seen since February 1st when it traded at 1.22 (this is an example of a “price-only” trader/analyst disadvantage).
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=IPT.V&p=D&yr=1&mn=3&dy=0&id=p48887244510&a=993199613
The August low for IPT vs SILJ was clearly THE low for the last 6 weeks. IPT is up 25% vs SILJ since August and is now ready to outperform it for months to come.
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=IPT.V%3ASILJ&p=D&yr=1&mn=5&dy=0&id=p36860345265&a=1020825224
Go back to sleep b………….. lol
IPT has been on a weekly MACD buy signal versus silver (SLV) for over a month. That was a very good sign that this long correction was over. Bellwether IPT does it again (SILJ, AG, or AXU, for example, STILL have not secured their own weekly MACD buy signals versus silver/SLV).
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=IPT.V%3ASLV&p=W&yr=5&mn=11&dy=0&id=p38470234362&a=947555240
IPT is up 40% versus Franco Nevada since mid-August:
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=IPT.V%3AFNV.TO&p=W&yr=6&mn=5&dy=0&id=p88946634991&a=645379702
Not surprisingly, IPT has also turned up vs First Majestic (up 31% vs it in the last 7 weeks):
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=IPT.V%3AFR.TO&p=D&yr=1&mn=5&dy=0&id=p71442479668&a=450748116
A Dow:Gold (DIA:GLD) chart I posted over a week ago:

GDX:DIA has broken its 4 month downtrend convincingly.
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=GDX%3ADIA&p=D&yr=1&mn=7&dy=0&id=p98605368739&a=1031342017
GDM looks great vs gold:
https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=%24GDM%3A%24GOLD&p=D&yr=1&mn=5&dy=13&id=p47720305152&a=982099007

https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=%24GOLD&p=W&yr=3&mn=3&dy=0&id=p59566785480&a=962059208
Well Cory/Shad … I see you got the new format for the site , up & running. I did notice it was down a few times during the day, teething problems . But your site builders did a good job. It’s going to take a little while , to get used to the new format….. Well done.
