I live alone and sleep when tired, typically for 3 or 4 hours, but when I awake I get up and continue reading or go about my life. That means that I keep weird hours.
Before I lost sufficient sight to safely drive, I used to get stopped by the police occassionally, FOR NO APPARENT REASONS….Asked what I was doing or for driving license. It never occured to me that the police were doing anything other than their job….making their presence known at 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. (Getting stopped after bar closing time seem to happen frequently, even though, I don’t drink at bars except when out of town on vacation.)
now I don’t tend to shop at those hours because taxis are not so easy to get at 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. If you have open 24 hour grocery stores, however, they are great hours to shop, because check-out is super quick and you don’t waste time.
It has been over 50 years since we had any RACIST LAWS.

There have now been over 20 attempts to measure/detect dark matter, and every experiment has been a failure. Thus we have a problem in physics.

Already one of the companies I work with is saying they won’t re-open their offices until there’s a vaccine. I take that to mean if you want to keep your job you’d better get vaccinated.

It was and may still be a country where anyone with brains and hard work or a good idea can rise higher than in any other country. As close to a democratic meritocracy as any country has ever been.

DiLorenzo is very much a historian, I can assure you. Even wikipedia lists his fields as economic history, American history, and Abraham Lincoln. Tom Woods is a Ph.D. historian (Harvard; Colombia) and he will tell you that DiLorenzo is the authority on Lincoln.
Read and scrutinize DiLorenzo’s books on Lincoln and you will see the problem with Lincoln and the cult of Lincoln that has stupidly deified him for the last century. Dishonest Abe was much worse than no good if you’re a Jeffersonian and fan of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.
DiLorenzo, is a very interesting and informative…..Gives a whole different slant on Lincoln,…which I think you have mentioned before.
I’m not a historian, just a reader of vast quantities of writings. I have had an interest in archeology for 50 years.
But let me ask two questions:
If the Union of the states is voluntary…..i.e. If states could choose to leave. How come there are no instructions or details in the Constitution or even the earlier articles of confederation of how to deal with trade or defence if a state should choose to leave?
The answer is, of course, that DiLorenzo is wrong. The Union, once created, is not considered voluntary.
Further, imagine a splitting of the U.S. into two separate countries: The North U.S. and the South U.S., in which the South had slavery and the North abolish slavery.
Do you think that could actually, practically work with trade between the two countries ?
Or do you think the South, with its slave labor might undercut the prices of production in the North, just as China has provided cheap goods, destroying the US productive economy before Trump became President?
Your understanding of history needs as much work as your understanding of the principles your country was founded on. So, I suggest you pose your questions to Tom Woods; I’m sure he’ll be happy to help you out.
