Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz Wants End To Sports League Tax Exemptions
Congressman Matt Gaetz became the lead sponsor of a bill that ends the tax-exempt status of professional sports leagues.
The NFL League Office received a special tax carveout from 1966 until it was voluntarily relinquished in 2015. Though individual teams were not tax-exempt, the NFL League Office was. They are responsible for the construction and development of new stadiums, paid for with over 6.5 billion taxpayer dollars. Tax-exempt revenues for professional sports leagues are higher than $2 billion. According to the Internal Revenue Service, businesses that conduct operations for profit on a “cooperative basis” should not qualify for tax-exempt treatment, yet a special exemption is made for professional sports leagues.
“Though the NFL voluntarily relinquished their tax exempt status in 2015, the NHL, PGA, and LPGA remain tax exempt. There is nothing that prevents the NFL from reclaiming its status. My legislation would end this loophole and generate over $150 million in new revenue over 10 years, according to 2016 estimates,” Gaetz said in a clarified statement Wednesday morning.

Nanny Deep State: Bob Corker Reveals Establishment Effort to Tame Donald Trump’s Agenda
Veteran Republican establishment figure Senator Bob Corker confirmed to the New York Times that the Republican establishment is focused on corralling President Donald Trump and his agenda.
In an interview with reporter Jonathan Martin, Corker said that most Republican senators realized that Trump was a threat to the general world order.
“[They] understand the volatility that we’re dealing with and the tremendous amount of work that it takes by people around him to keep him in the middle of the road,” he said.
After the mild-mannered Senator came unglued on Twitter on Monday, he told the New York Times he was trying to send a message to “the good guys” — Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and the White House chief of staff, John F. Kelly.
“As long as there are people like that around him who are able to talk him down when he gets spun up, you know, calm him down and continue to work with him before a decision gets made, I think we’ll be fine,” he said.
On Sunday, Corker publicly shared the widespread view among Senate Republicans that the people around Trump were expected to keep him under control.
“It’s a shame the White House has become an adult day care center,” Corker said. “Someone obviously missed their shift this morning.”
Democrats Collapsing with Socialism?
QUESTION: Marty; I just read Time Magazine that said the Democrats are in the worse shape since 1929. I understand you take no personal credit for all of these amazing forecast you provide on so many topics. You have clearly shown that the world is connected and the global trend is identifiable. Can your computer also forecast that you will make a difference when it comes to push v shove?
ND
ANSWER: Political change is driven by economics. That is fundamental. Time Magazine correctly wrote: “On the surface, the Democratic Party has been united … [b]ut dig an inch deeper and it’s clear the party is divided…” I have warned that the seeds of discontent were rising inside the Democratic Party back in February. In September 2016, I warned that: “By 2018, we just may see a completely different party forged out of the collapse of both the Democrats and Republicans we have come to know.” Trump has recast the Republican Party even though the elites are still in denial and fighting back. Trump beat all their candidates. So even the Republican think this is a fluke.

Anyone get this feeling that gold is going to launch UP.
Its been 5 years since I seen this type of action on the tape. Should be interesting.
Gold looks good but the miners look a lot better.

Matthew:
Why the hesitancy with PM stocks this morning? HUI still slightly negative even though Dec. gold is up around $10.
My guess is that most participants don’t believe that we’ve seen the low and are waiting for more technical evidence. It is my perception that even most experts were/are expecting gold to go much lower so the current bounce is probably being seen as just a relief rally at the halfway point. And that is possible but not what I expect.
As the technical picture improves, reasons to delay buying will disappear but many will need a much higher gold price to feel confident (as usual).
Tax cuts will pass eventually. Why do I say that?
Because Trump and his family will personally benefit from corp. tax cuts. This is the agenda item he cares about the most because he is a selfish individual. Trump was never fully committed to fixing healthcare. The fact that he was willing to sign any bill whether it was good or bad to repeal Obamacare shows you that he was mainly doing it to fulfill a campaign promise. Trump and family will save millions from tax cuts. That’s why he wants it and I think on this issue the fake president will win.
why not attack a top gop senator on the finance commette , like Corker ? More brilliant strtegy from DJTrump . Tillerson wqs right . He is a MORON . TWO party primarys did not work well . WE got GARBAGE candidates. Trump now backing out of his DACA deal with DEMS which means more delays in DEBT ceiling extension , and no new tax bill. Pray HARD. Scott
