There is a lot of interest in Mariana Resources (AIM:MARL & TSX.V:MARL) thanks to the continued high-grade drill results out of the Hot Maden property in Turkey – the most recent being 69.9m @ 62.7 g/t and 2.68% Cu, released on October 25th, click here if you missed that news. However the Company also holds properties in Côte d’Ivoire and Argentina. In this exclusive interview with Mariana CEO Glen Parsons we discuss the Côte d’Ivoire property. We talk about what first interested the team and the work that investors should expect through next year.

More action from the Majors in the same part of Africa….

I’m curious whether Randgold, Newcrest, B2Gold, or Endeavour Mining might takeover a few more of the smaller producers, development stage, or exploration companies in West Africa over the next 12-18 months. Got to be in it to win it!

Mariana Resources does it again at Hot Maden
    Oct 26, 2016

“Glen Parsons, chief executive officer of Mariana Resources (MARL, MRA), was understandably in ebullient mood after the gold explorer unveiled “exceptional” gold and copper intercepts at its Hot Maden project in Turkey.”

“Parson said the latest round of infill drilling has produced “spectacular results”, but he did not seem overly surprised, as “we’ve had them from the start”.

“What we are seeing now is the continuity of the zone,” he told Proactive Investors.

The latest drilling included the best drill hole to date, hole 72, and Parsons said “every time we put out an announcement, we have a new best hole to date”.
The hole contained a seven-metre section starting at 210 metres grading a bonanza 526 grams per tonne of gold and 3.28% of copper.

Mariana owns 30% of Hot Maden, with local partner Lidya holding the remainder.”

Another West African Development story that still has my interest and some of my dollars is Hummingbird Resources. (HUM.L) (HUMRF).

Here is a recent interview that does a good job overviewing their 2 projects:

Yanfolila ‘going as well as I could’ve hoped’, says Hummingbird’s Dan Betts
    Published on Oct 27, 2016

“Hummingbird Resources PLC said first concrete had been poured on time and on budget at the Yanfolila gold mine project in Mali.

Managing director Dan Betts told Proactive that 2016’s been much more positive compared to last year. ”At the start of the year we did a significant equity raise so we recapitalised Hummingbird and we had a lot of equity and with that we committed to building Yanfolila. Since then it’s just been an awful lot of work building the team, finishing the detailed engineering and mobilising on site”, Betts said.

He added: ”’It’s been a different sort of busy but a much more enjoyable busy. It’s been on the front foot, being proactive and doing what it’s all about – getting this mine built”.
