Not sure if accurate but the same author above stated that there was currently only about 1.2 Billion ounces above ground and about 6 times that amount of AU.

SilverCrest at European Gold Forum last week:

Many other companies presentations available from this 3 day event.
I am surprised these forums do not get referenced more often here.

Dennis:
Thanks for the excellent link from the European Gold Forum.
There is an interesting article on Kitco’s contributed commentaries this morning entitled “Worldwide silver shortage pushes premiums to 40% on Silver Eagles”.
Al:
Somewhat related. There was an article 2 days ago by an unknown writer on Kitco’s commentaries. The author stated that those dealers who actually have Physical AG are charging about $32-$33 net per ounce for Silver Eagles, slightly less for AG maple leafs and $29-30 for generic AG rounds and these are roll prices.
Given AG physical shortages and most mom and pop purchasers who probably won’t be selling, are we now looking at a new actual floor notwithstanding the phony reported daily low price presumably based on paper futures with only 750 million oz’s annually being mined worldwide?
