Vancouver-based Aurcana (TSX-V: AUN.V) (OTCQX: AUNFF.PK) reports that it produced 244,243 ounces in its last 80 days of silver production for its third quarter of 2011 at La Negra, located in Mexico. Year to-date silver production has increased 26% to 742,026, compared to 587,057 ounces this time last year. Aurcana’s ore production capacity stood at 1,500 metric tons per day at La Negra, and the company says that it is on track to complete its ongoing mill upgrade and ramp up production to 2,000 tons per day for the first quarter of 2012, a 33% increase from current capacity. The company also says that construction on its Shafter mine located in Texas is on-going production, production is scheduled to start within 7 months; it estimates that the Shafter Mine will produce 3.8 million ounces of silver in the first year.
