Trading in GameStop has been crazy today, but what is that telling us about the markets?
Ed Moya, Senior Market Analyst at OANDA joins me to share his thoughts the crazy moves in GameStop. This is another example of how younger retail traders have the ability to push stocks around. We discuss how this new environment for markets is important for all traders to recognize and understand how things have changed.

Taylor Dart on Seeking Alpha has a very negative view of GORO
Yep, I read it this morning, but still see GORO as an interesting
dividends paying exploration opportunity in Mexico, in addition to their producing mine. I am also one of those happy investors he mentioned with the spinoff shares in their Nevada mine and 5 NV properties in Fortitude.
(GOT) Goliath Resources is down 11.11% today, but I still really like their exploration prospects for 2021, and I decided to add to my position into the clearance sale.
Ex, I just bought Goliath last Fri, so of course they hit it today. I also bought Enduro, Strikepoint, and Fury on Fri. Today I bought Dolly Varden and more Novo.
Those are all good picks. I’m positioned in Goliath, Fury, Dolly Varden, and Novo from that list of companies. I don’t own Enduro or Strikepoint, but know both are garnering an interest recently. Good trading to you sir!
Thanks, Ex. Please stop me before I buy more Novo. Do you own Irving? It got down to 1.41 today. Looks cheap to me.
Haha! Bonzo whatever decision you make, I believe you will do excellent in the coming bull market. No I don’t own Irving.
There are lots of companies offering interesting value right now.
I bought some Eguana Technology SYL-EGT.V, this morning. They build solar powered storage systems (lithium) that are single phase (residential) and three phase (commercial) and are sold in North America, Germany, The UK, Italy, and more recently Australia and New Zealand. DT
OOPS! wrong link above those robots are looking for back up power! LOL! DT
Here it is, LOL! DT

I will be a real popular fellow after getting on the bad side of the bankers yesterday, and the robots today! DT
DT – You are just an innovator. If only the robots would keep dancing, and the bankers would stop their fractional reserve charades, the world would be a better place.
As for Eguana, yes they are one of the players in the battery space and I had mentioned them a few times, but nobody had responded much to the comments on the battery industry. Bob M. used to cover Eguana as well.
Electrovaya and HPQ-Silicon Resources are 2 other hot battery companies.
DT – There are some encouraging charts of Battery demand and companies making further investments into Battery Metals in the middle part of this Lithium market report, that may be of interest.

Lithium Miners News For The Month Of January 2021
Jan. 26, 2021 – Matt Bohlsen
This whole industry is taking off, Calgary and area has a lot of these little enviro companies. Thanks DT and Ex.
Agreed Dan. It is an interesting growth sector.
I’ve noticed that 50 cents is a major hurdle for these little companies, more than $1 mostly, IMHO.
Has ceo.ca been down off and on all day. I have been cleaning gutters most of today. I also got an email from the Canadian group that is working towards changes in the Canadian market rules. I was surprised to learn that “ naked shorting” is legal in Canada. Very troubling.
Buying before selling is okay but selling before buying is not?
Same here David. I tried a few times to log in to ceo.ca and finally gave up to go hike in the mountains.
I added more shares to some of my core; Abbra, Ascot, Aftermath, Liberty, Orca, Idaho gold, and Hecla.
Started small positions in Barksdale and Cartier. (had bid in before today’s interview)
…now they all shall fall
High Tide news today, big move on big volume, I took profits. HITI.v
Hi Ex, I don’t whether you discussed Leading Edge Minerals (LEM-V) in your talk on rare earths yesterday. The Norra Kar deposit that was previously Talisman Resources. It might be worth re-visiting. DT
Hi DT. Yep I mentioned LEM Leading Edge Materials in my weekend Rare Earth Elements rant. Normally Karr is top shelf for sure. It used to belong to Tasman in the last REE cycle. Plus LEM has Graphite and Lithium.
Money is finding it’s way more plentifully into speculative use, there are no barriers to stop speculation anymore. Traders will not be shaken out of this market by anything short of a major disaster. In my time I have not seen anything like what is going on. If The Federal Reserve tried to stop it, the hot money would still keep rolling on as if nothing had happened, the authorities have lost their way. Next momentum play turn left as you leave the room, this is a gambler’s paradise. DT
Even a disaster didn’t slow down the markets from surging higher.
Normally = Norra (darn auto correct on phone).
In the weekend show blog discussion on Rare Earths we had also mentioned Neo Performance Materials, and they just announced a big capital raise.

(GORO) Gold Resource Corp: The Stock Disappoints While Fortitude Gold Sails Away
Jan. 25, 2021 – Fun Trading – Seeking Alpha
– “Fortitude Gold is the company that Gold Resource spun off last year after the board approved the spin-off on December 16, 2020.”
– “GORO shareholders received one fortitude Gold share for every three and a half GORO shares on December 31, 2020. ”
– “The direct consequence of the Nevada spinoff is that the gold production will not include production from Isabella Pearl anymore, starting Q1’21.”
– “GORO will be a great stock to trade in 2021.”
“The investment thesis is quite complicated with the Fortitude Gold spun-off.”
“On a standalone basis, Gold Resource offers a steady gold and silver production with substantial growth potential. The company is debt free and pays a dividend yield of 1.48%. Gold Resource has two operating mines.”
> Aguila Project, Arista underground mine
> Alta Gracia Project, Mirador underground mine
“Thus, I believe the stock value now presents a fair opportunity long term after its recent drop”
Technically GORO has been on sell for some time now, likely due to the spin out of the Nevada mine and assets into Fortitude, but it is getting pretty oversold now. Looking to see if the S1 Pivot holds as support for a bounce.
Gold And Silver Are Looking Bullish
Jan. 26, 2021 – Dave Kranzler
“I believe that there’s a relatively high probability of another big move in the precious metals sector is coming. The charts of gold and silver are starting to look bullish again after the sharp sell-off in the sector that started on January 5th. This technical back-drop is supported by the incoming Presidential administration’s professed willingness to accelerate the level of Federal deficit spending, something which can only be facilitated by a large increase in the Fed’s money printing agenda which currently stands at $120 billion per month.”
“In terms of the potential duration for this current secular bull cycle, recall that Paul Volcker ended the 1970s’ cycle, which really went from 1971-1980, because he had the luxury of jacking the Fed funds rate up to 20%. The current Fed does not have that option to curtail the coming high rate of inflation by shutting off its printing press and hiking the Fed funds rate without completely decimating the economy and crashing the financial markets. In short, the current bull move is just getting started relative to the 1970’s and 2001-2011 cycles.”

FranSix that used to post here at the KER put up an interesting monthly gold chart on ceo.ca this morning.

@F6 Re: Gold Monthly #charts
Since the gold price elliot wave count conforming with the data says the gold bull market had most of its gains in the first nine years, from 1999 to 2008, the gold price bull market is a WAVE ONE extension.
The surprise has been that the shortest wave is the second up-wave, while the final up-wave should ostensibly be an average of the multiples between the first up-wave and the second up-wave(smallest up-wave.) 4.02 + 2.85 = 6.87 /2= 3.435
Placing the fibonacci extension at the appropriate location gives you a forecast of where the gold price can wind up during a blow-off. Using the multiple of 3.435 X 1047 = 3596, between the two fibonacci extensions.
That also implies that the next few months Gold prices will chronically overbought, and at the very TOP of a long-duration bull market.
