Oil’s Rise And It’s Impact On Other Sectors

Cory
September 24, 2018

With the oil price continuing to rise it is important to understand why this is happening in a typically slow period. Chris Temple joins me to breakdown the factors (or I should say countries) driving price. Also importantly a rising oil price can hamper other markets and sectors by adding an almost tax in terms of higher costs.

How does 1,300% in a few weeks sound?

Yep, Royal Nickel Corp was just considering getting rid of their Beta Hunt Gold project when they made the huge discovery of the gold boulders, that has lit up the company. There have been hundreds of people over in the RNX room over a ceo.ca pontificating endlessly on where this one is going…..

I’m a bit bothered, because I was literally just getting ready to add RNX to my portfolio, but because of their Nickel assets more so than the gold.

I have a position in the royalty company (MMX) Maverix Metals and they have a royalty of 6.0% gross revenue royalty (GRR) + 1.5% net smelter return (NSR) royalty & Nickel – 1.5% NSR royalty on Beta Hunt.

        ________________________________

Most of the super-hyped deal jumping investors piling into RNX haven’t really thought through the financial situation of RNC (Royal Nickel Corp), what they’d have to do to build a mine, and they haven’t factored in how much of the profits if Beta Hunt was put in production would actually move to Maverix Metal shareholders with such a beefy set of royalties in place. 😉

          Sep 24, 2018 24:52 PM

Correction to the above post – it is their Nickel mine that is still in development and has the huge price tag to bring it into production. Beta Hunt is already in production, but wasn’t doing that great (prior to this gold bolder discovery) and they had been shopping it for a buyer to divest it. Now, they may reevaluate things, but the stock has run away from reality at this point. Still, quite an amazing discovery and it is always fun to see a company make a bonanza grade find.

This Dumont Project is what had caught my interest in RNX:

For the near future, I’m sure all eyes will be on Beta Hunt, but they better find a lot more Gold boulders to keep their valuation where it sits today….

      Parabolic Move………I think……..

        Sep 24, 2018 24:15 PM

        That is One Nice Move……..

        Sep 24, 2018 24:18 PM

I’d say it’s more of a rocket launch move. 🚀

          Sep 24, 2018 24:19 PM

          About 1600% now

        Sep 24, 2018 24:24 PM

        Thanks for the info……….

          Sep 24, 2018 24:28 PM

RNX………will need to chance their name from Royal Nickel to Royal Dollar

            Sep 25, 2018 25:02 AM

Their focus was more on Nickel and developing the Dumont Project, and they’ve been trying to divest Beta Hunt and find a buyer, but a few Gold boulders and now they are in the stratosphere. It didn’t make their mine any more profitable, and once gravity returns, they better get blasting for more of what they just found, or ultimately not much has changed.

Again, I’m wishing them all the success in the world because I hold Maverix Metals who has 7.5% in royalties against this mine from Royal Nickel Corp, so the better they do, the better Maverix shareholders will do in sympathy.

            Ever Upward!

What happened to novo?, PMs seem to be hanging on by their fingernails but about a 20% drop is sumtin happened.

I think were at another point of “we could go up or down”…thats a change.

      Sep 24, 2018 24:36 PM

Novo’s Quinton spoke at the Denver Gold show this morning. We can’t hear the webcast until Thurs. but the market must not have liked it. Another chance to get some Novo if you don’t have any.

6 days left for the sept rally.
so much for starting one in aug.

    Sep 24, 2018 24:10 PM

Anyone listen to the GANN Report………. ?

      Sep 24, 2018 24:38 PM

What does Gann say now? A few wekks ago he said gold would bottom in Oct. and then go to $2500 in 2 years.

        Sep 24, 2018 24:07 PM

Gold is stalled……….Platinum the better bet………
        HUI…..might go lower……..

          Sep 24, 2018 24:10 PM

By looking at Platinum and Palladium …….palladium is way ahead of platinum, but, why is that……..not sure palladium is not over valued vs. platinum

        Sep 24, 2018 24:14 PM

Gann is having a harder time with the gold, ….and the 60 yr. cycle……..
since his records do not go back that far or further…..I think that is what he said

          Sep 24, 2018 24:15 PM

I was really paying more attention to the Platinum……..since, I reported…..the ratio to gold was 1.54 to one……a few weeks back.

Rogers seems to me to be the most steadfast in his thinking, has been for a long while, not selling and not buying, unless we get under $1000.
    Which we may.
Can you say “tweet tweet?” lol

      Sep 24, 2018 24:30 PM

Jimmy is not buying, because he has all he wants…..or needs……..

        Sep 24, 2018 24:32 PM

Gold is not the best buy………….platinum has gone up more than gold or silver the last few week………up 12%….

          Sep 24, 2018 24:50 PM

Platinum is a better buy than gold today, but silver is an even better bargain.
But NGD and NSRPF might be even better than silver.

            Sep 24, 2018 24:05 PM

Silver is a bargain, but, silver is to controlled for my liking ………

            Sep 24, 2018 24:06 PM

silver is for the little people……… 🙂 just kidding………

Other than that 1 significant bounce we had, gold has been just about the worst place to have money, well, jr miners, golds always the same.

      Sep 24, 2018 24:17 PM

The lid is on……..as long as we have COMEX, CME, CFTC………..

    Sep 24, 2018 24:29 PM

I’m glad you guys got into Royal Nickel, RNX-T, I missed it! LOL! DT

      Sep 24, 2018 24:42 PM

      I missed it too, DT!

        Sep 24, 2018 24:52 PM

I never heard of RNX-T till a couple of weeks ago.

        Sep 24, 2018 24:08 PM

Matthew, I was kidding, I got lucky. DT

      Sep 25, 2018 25:06 AM

DT – The pisser is that I was just getting ready to add to RNX for their Nickel and Copper exposure, (not really for the Gold production, which they were working on selling), but before I could pull the trigger, they go out and find Bonanza-grade gold boulders, and I missed the rocket ship.

However, as mentioned above, I have some exposure through MMX and their 7.5% royalties on RNX’s Beta Hunt mine. That isn’t as sexy this month, but it will help out Maverix Metals quarter after quarter into the future.

    Sep 25, 2018 25:02 AM

Wallbridge Mining came out recently with some very interesting drill results, they have too many shares but this company never gets any respect. I have followed them on and off for years but investors always shun this company. I just haven’t had the time to look into them in depth. DT
