So, the Fed raises rates, knowing it might kill the economy, so that it can lower rates when the economy dies.
That is logic only a bureaucrat can understand.
In fact what is happening, is that foreign countries are beginning to not buy treasuries because of the size of the debt. Raising interest rates will not make treasuries significantly more attractive, when the fear is default or erosion of value via excessive money printing.
