The concept of the “deep state” is very interesting.
Something else that is very interesting is the different ways that “populism” is defined. To make myself perfectly clear I prefer to use the “nationalism” as opposed to the word “globalism”
There sees to be too many nuances to the word “populism”
If the Pope is referring to the word “nationalism” it is hard for me to agree with him.

I stopped flying years ago due to the “security” , stopped going to the U.S. as its a police state. (I know, Im nuts lol) (I loved Vegas)
I didnt like children being molested so stopped flying.

I have a gut level feeling that President Trump is on our side.
I have never had a problem in the past with the TSA. Just luck I guess. Now, Kathy and I do not fly beause it is just too much of a hassel.
And, why should I? Communication is great as we all have experienced and I have an absolutely beautiful almost classic BMW convertible, which I love to drive, and go anywhere that I desire. With the siilarities between bus travel and airline travel, I choose not to used either one unless it is absolutely necessary. So far that necessity has not shown itself to us.
Ive had a few people tell me they have never had an issue.
Thats how things start, a little here a little there, nobody cares and then its everywhere.
Just takes a little time, but we are going to see armed gaurds in places we dont see them today, until it becomes normal to see them anywhere.
These pat downs teach children its ok to let strangers touch you if they are in uniform.
The brainwashing is in ways most people dont see.
Heck, there are vids of people dropping their pants on busy roadsides for the police now….normal. lol
Imagine the thinking when the 5 year olds that go thru airport security today when they get to 20 years old.
Its all just the way it has always been, totally normal.

In direct contradiction to Rothkopf, the more I have studied the more obvious and tranparent has become the absurdity of his point of view.
Ah, yes, the wonderful Deep State of highly competent and committed career public servants. The ones who have brought us criminal war after criminal war based on lies? The ones that have left the US a debt-ridden shadow of its former self? The ones that have given us health and education systems which perform far worse than most developed nations but cost far more? The ones that have trashed the Constitution and basic human decency by subjecting us all to pervasive surveillance?
A key deception of Rothkopf is to imply that the Deep State is just made up of career bureaucrats. In reality, and much more importantly, it also refers to private interests that control the gov’t–the powers behind the throne. The lobby groups for the mega-corporations or special interests like AIPAC. The corporate media. The PR firms. The banksters. And lets not forget how many key bureaucrats are there via the revolving door serving groups like Goldman Sachs and Monsanto, to whom they will eventually return in order to collect their financial rewards.
For Rothkopf the shallow state are people who “reject vast subjects rooted in fact in order to have reality conform to their worldviews…that makes them feel better about themselves.” He turns reality on its head here, like any good spin-meister.
The shallow state that he refers to is in fact exactly what the deep state wants, requires, and indeed cultivates. In order for unelected powers that do not represent the interests of the general populace to have their way, they require a populace incapable of independent critical thinking and with no firm footing in fact-based reality. Those who use facts and logic to challenge their power will of course be smeared in any way possible.
One point Rothkopf mentions in passing is vaccines. AJ, if you put in the work to study that single topic deeply, you’ll see what a flim-flam man Rothkopf is, and you’ll benefit greatly from the knowledge aquired to boot.

She justifies her duplicity by comparing politics to sausage making, and saying that it has always been distasteful. It may justify secrecy surrounding the sausage making of the deals they have to make to advance that policy.

BERLIN (AP) — Police ordered a shopping mall in the western German city of Essen not to open Saturday after receiving credible tips of an imminent attack.
The shopping center and the adjacent parking lot stayed closed as about 100 police officers — many armed with machine pistols and bullet-proof vests — positioned themselves around the compound to prevent anyone from entering the mall. Several officers scoured the interior to bring out early morning cleaning staff.
“As police, we are the security authority here and have decided to close the mall,” police spokesman Christoph Wickhorst said, adding that they had been tipped off late Friday by other security agencies. He declined to provide further details, but police later said there had been concrete indications for an attack on Saturday.
Essen police said later that they were questioning a man, and had searched his apartment in nearby Oberhausen.
A second man was detained at an internet cafe in Oberhausen in the afternoon and police also increased their presence at a mall, the Centro, in that city, the German news agency dpa reported.
In Essen, the downtown mall at Limbecker Platz square will be closed for the entire day. The mall is one of the biggest in Germany with more than 200 stores and attracts up to 60,000 people on a regular Saturday, according to the shopping center’s website.
In 2016, three people were injured in an attack on a Sikh temple in Essen by radicalized German-born Muslim teenagers.
